The yearly inspection will take place at Town Hall.

From the Braintree Bi-centennial Time Capsule Society
Honoring our Nation’s past, present and future, the Braintree’s Bi-Centennial Time Capsule Society will hold its annual event on Saturday, July 4th at 9 a.m. at Town Hall’s Cahill Auditorium.
The program will include a report of the yearly inspection of the Time Capsule Cairn which aims to ensure the protection of the treasure trove of artifacts collected in 1976 available to future Braintree residents at the Tri-Centennial in 2076. Senator Brian Joyce will attend offering his remarks, top ranking Braintree High School Senior to offer reflections about the meaning of Independence. The US Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 12 Color Guard honors us with their presence. History comes to life as we will be joined by Recreated Civil War Unit of the 22nd Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment to share information about Soldiers lost from Braintree in 1861 and with authentic muskets will volley on Town Hall Mall. Braintree’s Boy/Cub Scout Troop #22, Girl Scout Troop, assist with the program and singers from Braintree Choral Society add their special touch with patriotic music during this hour and fifteen-minute program. As always, representing our Armed Forces who are currently serving will be members of the Braintree Veteran’s Council, Chapter 29 DAV, Post 1702 VFW, and Post 86 American Legion.
