Braintree Wamp Named Boston Globe Division 1A HS Baseball Player of the Year

The accolades keep rolling in for the Braintree baseball team.

After winning the Division 1A state title, two Wamps and their coach have been recognized by the Boston Globe.

Coach Bill O’Connell was named the Division 1A Coach of the Year, helping lead Braintree to a state title.

Batting .425 with five home runs and 29 RBIs, senior third baseman Connor Columbus was named the Division 1A player of the year.

Shortstop and pitcher Scott Creedon was also named a Globe All-Scholastic, winning two Super 8 games, throwing a complete-game win in the Super 8 final against St. John’s Prep, and finishing the season 8-0 with an ERA of 1.75.
