Braintree Welcomes 4 New Firefighters In 2023

BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree Fire Department staff has added four new firefighters for 2023.

A swearing-in ceremony took place on Jan. 4 at Town Hall, where the department welcomed the new firefighters. They are Pat Hubbard, Jimmy Kelly, Dan Cushing, and Mike Milward Jr.

"Thank you to Mayor Kokoros, Chief O’Brien and the Town of Braintree for your continued support," said the Braintree Firefighters Union.

Braintree's Fire Department had a big year in 2022, as the town decided to fund major renovations at the department's headquarters.

The Town Council in May approved an additional $7 million for work at the fire headquarters, bringing the total allocation of funds to $11.5 million. The money was part of a $21.6 million capital budget plan by Mayor Charles Kokoros.
