Braintree Woman Wins $1 Million Dollar Prize at Lottery HQ

BRAINTREE, MA — The latest person to win a $1 million dollar prize didn't have to travel that far to collect her winnings.

Sherry Burns of Braintree was recently at the Massachusetts State Lottery's Braintree headquarters to pick up her $1 million prize from the state lottery’s Platinum Millions instant game. The winning ticket was purchased at the lottery's headquarters.

Burns chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000. She told lottery officials that she plans on using her winnings to buy a house.

One $10 million prize and seven $1 million prizes remain in the $20 instant game.
