Braintree's Dubois Selected As Next Portland Police Chief
The Braintree police chief will need to be confirmed by the City Council this week after the city manager selected him on Friday.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree Police Chief Mark Dubois is likely to be on the move to Portland, Maine.
Portland City Manager Danielle West announced on Friday that she selected Dubois as the city's next police chief. The move isn't official quite yet, as Dubois needs to be confirmed by the City Council, who will vote on the move during a Monday meeting.
Dubois has been the chief in Braintree since 2019 and served as chief in Maynard, Mass. for seven years prior.

If confirmed, Dubois will start his new job in Portland on July 31. The city announced he will earn $165,000 annually.
