Charity Dinner Planned To Benefit Braintree Families In Need
The socially distant dinner will replace the annual Christmas party and raise money for the Marge Crispin Center.
BRAINTREE, MA — Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the annual Braintree charity Christmas party was canceled this year. But instead, residents are getting creative, holding a socially distanced dinner instead to benefit the Marge Crispin Center.
The charity dinner is reservation only and was scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Dec. 10 at the Granite Grille. Normally the event asks residents to bring toys, but because of the pandemic, event organizers asked people to donate gift cards in denominations of $10 to local stores and restaurants.
Event organizer Sean Powers said the event will be similar to any other indoor dining experience over the past few months.
