Commuters at Braintree MBTA Station Can Pay for Prime Spots

The new "Premium Parking" program includes several towns on the South Shore, including Braintree, Halifax and Scituate.

For a flat monthly fee, MBTA commuters in Braintree can now lock in a parking space close to the station entrance.

Called "Premium Parking," the program costs $200 per month and is offered at several South Shore locations including Braintree, according to an MBTA announcement. The 24/7 access passes can be purchased from LAZ parking.

Unlike many other MBTA stations, Braintree does not offer a $70 monthly parking permit. And the premium pass itself is more of a time-saver than a bargain. A typical commuter who uses the parking lot five days a week at $7 per day would pay $140 for the month.
