BRAINTREE, MA — Construction is underway for an Amazon Fresh grocery store in Braintree.

The Braintree Planning Board approved Amazon's plan to take the former Saks Off 5th and 5.11 Tactical spaces and convert them into a 37,500 square-foot grocery store at the Grossman Drive shopping plaza, the Patriot Ledger reported.

Amazon Fresh stores carry a wider variety of groceries than Whole Foods. They also have some shopping features unique to the tech giant. One of those features is a shopping cart with a tablet attached to it that tallies up items and lets you pay for them from the cart without going through a checkout line. There's also Alexa stations throughout the store that can answer shoppers' questions.
