A Season Celebrating Women's Choices, Courage, and Power
Curtain Call Theatre and Triad Theatre Company are proud to announce HEAR HER ROAR!, an upcoming season of theatre celebrating the strength, resilience, creativity, and complexity of women.
Presented at Curtain Call Theatre in Braintree, the season brings together five powerful productions exploring women and girls finding their voices, confronting the forces that seek to silence them, and discovering what it means to stand up, speak out, and create change.
HEAR HER ROAR! is more than a theme. It is an invitation to listen.

From the fierce determination of young women on a soccer field, to the laughter, heartbreak, and memories woven into women’s lives, to stories that challenge audiences to confront difficult truths, HEAR HER ROAR! shines a spotlight on women’s voices, experiences, courage, and resilience.
THE WOLVES

Sarah DeLappe’s The Wolves opens the season with a funny, fierce, and ultimately moving portrait of a girls’ indoor soccer team.
Gathered on the field before each game, the players navigate friendship, competition, identity, sexuality, grief, and the complicated transition from adolescence into adulthood. Beneath the seemingly ordinary rituals of warm-ups and team chatter lies a deeply human story about young women learning who they are — and how to stand together.
LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE

The season also features Love, Loss, and What I Wore, a funny, poignant, and deeply relatable celebration of women, friendship, and the stories we carry with us. Inspired by the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman, the play uses clothing, memories, and the milestones of everyday life to explore love, heartbreak, marriage, motherhood, friendship, family, and everything in between.
Told through a series of intimate and often hilarious stories, Love, Loss, and What I Wore reminds us that the clothes in our closets can hold entire chapters of our lives — and that sometimes the best way to tell our stories is together, with a little laughter along the way.
NATURAL SHOCKS
January 16–24, 2027

Next comes Lauren Gunderson’s Natural Shocks, a gripping one-woman play that takes audiences on an unexpected and deeply personal journey.
Blending storytelling, humor, and direct connection with the audience, Natural Shocks invites us to listen closely, look beneath the surface, and consider what happens when an ordinary moment takes an unexpected turn.
ADA AND THE ENGINE
March 6–21, 2027

The season continues with Lauren Gunderson’s Ada and the Engine, a romantic and intellectually exhilarating drama about Ada Lovelace, often recognized as the world’s first computer programmer.
Set against the backdrop of Victorian England, the play imagines Ada’s relationship with inventor Charles Babbage while exploring her extraordinary vision for the future of computing. A woman ahead of her time, Ada refused to allow the limitations placed on women to limit her imagination.
THE HELLO GIRLS
May 8–23, 2027

The season culminates with The Hello Girls, a celebration of the women who broke barriers to serve their country during World War I.
When the U.S. Army needed telephone operators who could communicate quickly and accurately in France, more than 200 women answered the call. These pioneering women served under dangerous wartime conditions, yet because they were women, they returned home without the full military recognition they had earned.
Their story is one of courage, determination, sisterhood, and a refusal to accept the word “no.”
Together, the five productions of HEAR HER ROAR! create a season celebrating women at every stage of life — girls discovering their identities, women navigating love, loss, friendship, and change, visionaries imagining a different future, and pioneers demanding recognition. Through humor, heartbreak, courage, and resilience, these stories remind us of the many ways women find their voices — and the power of listening when they do.
“I wanted to create a season that celebrates women in all their complexity. Not every woman finds her voice in the same way. Some are loud, some are quiet. Some fight, some endure. Some create, some challenge the status quo, and some simply refuse to disappear. These five stories remind us that every voice matters — and that sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply listen,” says Toni Ruscio, Producing Artistic Director of Curtain Call Theatre and Founder of Triad Theatre Company.
The season also reflects the ongoing mission of Curtain Call Theatre and Triad Theatre Company to create opportunities for artists and audiences to experience theatre that is entertaining, thought-provoking, and deeply connected to the world around us.
