Dog Rescued From Icy Water In Braintree

A small dog was reunited with its owner thanks to local firefighters after falling into icy waters on Edgehill Road in Braintree.

BRAINTREE, MA — A local dog needed assistance from Braintree firefighters after falling into icy waters, officials said.

The Facebook page Braintree Fire Dept History first shared the story, explaining that two local fire engines were called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the end of Edgehill Road.

A small dog was found a few feet into the water, and officials determined that it had fallen through the ice but was hanging onto a piece of it with its front paws.

Fire officials used a wetsuit to wade into the water with a rope and lifesaver ring, grabbing the dog and bringing it to safety.
