Dominating Performance Jolts Bishops to State Crown
Archbishop Williams dominated from the start and went on to a convincing win on Saturday in Worcester.
The Archbishop Williams High School girls basketball team is likely moving to Division 1 next season. If they are indeed on their way out of Division 3, the Bishops made their final season there a memorable one.
After falling in the semifinals the previous two seasons, Archbishop Williams dominated Lee in the state championship game on Saturday at Worcester's DCU Center.
After blasting out of the gates and pulling away early, the Bishops threw their game into cruise control for the rest of the game en route to a 60-33 victory that came after semifinal losses in the previous two seasons.

Head coach Jim Bancroft said after the game that the team will likely make the jump to Division 1 after this season.
"We refer back to those losses all the time, and things we have to do to get past that," said Bancroft. "For the seniors especially, I'm glad they can leave with a win and leave with a state championship."
