Dominican Sisters from Vietnam Attend Nationally Televised Mass

WATERTOWN, Mass. (October 26, 2015) – On October 21, 2015 the daily Catholic Mass was celebrated at the Watertown studios of CatholicTV in the Chapel of Holy Cross.

Father Michael Harrington, Director of Outreach and Cultural Diversity in the Archdiocese of Boston, celebrated today’s Mass. He was joined by group of Dominican sisters of St. Catherine of Siena in Vietnam, as well as a sister from the Missionary of Christ the King in Canada. Sr. Nardine Clairzie and Sr. Thuy Tran served Fr. Harrington at the altar. Natalia Soares from the Office of Outreach and Culture Diversity in the Archdiocese of Boston served as lector. The sisters joined together to sing a reflection hymn “A Gift of Life”, including Sr. Quyen Ta who played the organ.

The six Dominican Sisters from Bui Chu, Vietnam are temporarily living in the Convent of Our Lady of Sorrows in Brockton, MA. While in the United States, the sisters are learning how to speak and write English. They have been tutored by some of the Sisters of Jesus Christ Crucified and other lay people that have joined the program. Additionally the sisters are hosted by the CJC sisters as well as the Sisters of Sorrowful Mother.
