Dr. Kurzberg Flips Burgers at Annual Elder Affairs Cookout

For those of you who wondered what Dr. Peter Kurzberg would do after retiring as Superintendent of the Braintree Public Schools – wonder no more!

We’ve found him a job, flipping hamburgers at the Braintree Senior Center for the Department of Elder Affairs Annual Cookout.

Dr. K. was ably assisted by a cadre of Rotary volunteers:  Jack Ryan, Kateri Bousaleh MacDonald, Linda Barry, Judy Shores, Dave Shepherd, Ginny Polio, Alden Shores, Jay Nuss, and Dr. Jules Baronas.  Joining the hardworking crew but missing the photo were:  Joanne Tully, Chris Fleser, and Russ Peck, Sr.

Approximately 90 of Braintree’s hungry seniors were treated to hot dogs, hamburgers, red bliss potato salad, baked beans, ice cream sandwiches, and lemonade.

Joey B-Bop and his four-year-old son Cameron provided entertainment, performing songs of the ‘50s and ‘60s.  A grand time was had by all.
