Driver Arraigned From Hospital Bed After Braintree Crash

Three people in an SUV suffered serious injuries after a head-on crash in Braintree. The driver of a pickup truck faces charges.

BRAINTREE, MA — A Holbrook man faces drunk driving charges after a Dec. 1 crash that resulted in serious injury to himself and three others.

Ryan Gorman, 39, faces three counts of driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury and other moving infractions after the crash. He posted a $5,000 bail for his release.

Gorman was arraigned Monday in a hospital bed after the Sunday morning crash in Braintree.

The crash happened around 12:50 a.m. near 655 Union St. An investigation found that Gorman was heading west down Union Street when he crossed into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with a car driven by an 18-year-old from West Yarmouth.

The 18-year-old and a 21-year-old passenger suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Another 18-year-old passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized.
