Finalist From The Voice To Headline Braintree 4th Of July Celebration

BRAINTREE, MA — If you're a fan of NBC's "The Voice" and you hear a performer that sounds familiar at the Braintree 4th of July celebration, chances are it's going to be Kristen Merlin.

Merlin, who was a semi-finalist on the show's sixth season in 2014, will perform at Braintree Day on July 1.

“This is one of the best days of the year in our community and the committee is excited about the changes made this year,” Town Council President and July 4th Celebration Committee Chairman Sean Powers said. “This year’s festivities plan to be one of the best celebrations we’ve ever had as we come together to celebrate everything that we love about America and Braintree.”

The event kicks off with the annual Stars and Stripes parade a 11:45 a.m. The parade will travel from the parking lot of the RMV and will finish at the Hollis School on Washington Street.

In addition to the parade and Merlin, the daylong event will include a food truck festival, activities, games, pony rides, and the annual 4th of July fireworks.
