Five Braintree Wamps Earn Boston Globe All-Scholastic Honors

The list includes Jake Barrett, who was named the player of the year in gymnastics.

BRAINTREE, MA — Four Braintree Wamps have been named among the best high school athletes in the area.

Nicolas Timberlake of the boys basketball team, Keelah Dixon of the girls basketball team, and gymnasts Jake Barrett, Colin Babineau, and Isiah Cato have been named members of the Boston Globe All-Scholastic team.

In basketball, Timberlake averaged over 28 points, seven rebounds, and three assists per game. The senior finished his high school career with 1,041 points.

During the season, Dixon averaged 17 points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals per game. She finished her time at Braintree with 1,220 career points. Next year, she'll play basketball for Colgate.

Barrett was named the gymnast of the year and finished first in the all-around and rings at the state meet. He had five more top-six finishes.

Babineau picked up his second All-Scholastic award by finishing fifth at the all-state meet and in the top 10 in six events, along with a third-place finish in the vault.

Despite a foot injury early in the season, Cato ended the season with a state title and 8.00 on pommel horse.
