Four Square Restaurant to Feature DJ, Live Music
Members of the license board approved an entertainment permit for the restaurant and heard from an auto shop long in negotiation over parking spaces.

An epic parking saga, a state senator gets his music and taxi cabs receive a thumbs up.
It was all part of a brief meeting Tuesday afternon of the Board of License Commissioners. State Sen. Robert Hedlund, R-Weymouth, received permission to use a DJ or other entertainment Mondays through Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at his new restaurant Four Square in Braintree-Weymouth Landing.
"We submitted the application in the hopes of having that option," Hedlund said, and will not necessarily host performers every night.

The approval came with the requirement that the planning department sort out whether Four Square requires a special "place of assembly" permit, despite the fact that there is limited space outside of tables and the bar area.
"I was going to have them dance on the bar and the tables," Hedlund joked. "Just kidding."

Members also went back and forth with representatives of at 365 Quincy Ave. over a parking issue that came to a head . At the time, One Stop Auto was part of what Town Clerk and board chair Joe Powers called a "standard, annual process" of approving licenses for businesses like repair shops, gas stations and liquor stores.
