Fourth Candidate Enters Braintree School Committee Race

Kelly Cobb-Lemire took out nomination papers, signaling she will run for Braintree School Committee.

BRAINTREE, MA — Kelly Cobb-Lemire has taken out nomination papers, indicating she will run for School Committee. Cobb-Lemire is the fourth person to enter a race that includes incumbent Thomas Devin and challengers Karla Morast and James Daiute. There will be at least once open seat to fill in November's town election since School Committee chair Lisa Fiske Heger is running for mayor.

As of Monday, Aug. 26, here's who's taken out nomination papers for Braintree's town election on Nov. 5. All town council seats are two-year terms, while all other positions have four-year terms The asterisks indicate incumbents:

The deadline for mayor candidates to pick up nomination papers has already passed. For all other positions, the deadline is 5 p.m., Sept. 13. Braintree's town election is Nov. 5., but for the mayor race, there will also be preliminary elections Sept. 17 to narrow the field to two candidates.
