GoFundMe For Braintree Woman To Communicate Again
Allison Asci, of Braintree, lost most of her communication skills because of a brain bleed. A new device could change that.

BRAINTREE, MA — In late 2015, Allison Asci, of Braintree, suffered a brain bleed, leaving her unconscious in a parking lot. If not for a good Samaritan finding her, Asci would have died. But the embolism made it impossible for her to breathe on her own, speak, or have any fine motor control.
Asci can't use sign language because of the lack of motor skills and has only been able to communicate with rudimentary hand gestures, but thanks to a new medical device, that could all chance. Asci's family and friends have turned to GoFundMe to raise money for the "NeuroNode Trilogy," a device which makes it possible to turn hand gestures into words.
As of Aug. 5, Asci's friends and family have raised $5,655 of the $15,000 needed to purchase the device.
