Gunshots Prompt Braintree Investigation

Officials are seeking information about multiple shots being fired near Skyline Drive in Braintree early Thursday morning.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree police are investigating a report of shots fired on Skyline Drive early Thursday morning.

Police began receiving 911 calls from residents at Skyline Drive reporting gunshots from an area near Eaton's Pond around 3 a.m. Thursday, officials said.

"Officers arrived on the scene and discovered ballistic evidence in an area adjacent to the pond and woods," police said. "They did not encounter any individuals in the area nor was there any indication of injuries at this time."

Interviews with residents found that, shortly after the sound of the shots, up to three people, wearing black and described as “juveniles,” were seen running from the area up Skyline Drive.
