Armed Man Surrenders After Hours-Long Stand-Off With SWAT Team
Police didn't release the man's name, but said he was taken to a local hospital and will be arraigned Monday.
BRAINTREE, MA — A stand-off that started before 11 a.m. Friday ended when an armed man who barricaded himself in an apartment surrendered to Braintree police.

Earlier on Friday, police evacuated the apartment complex in South Braintree Square after the man threatened another resident with a gun and then barricaded himself in one of the units, according to 7 News Boston.

A SWAT team was called to an apartment complex. Mental health professionals and crisis negotiators throughout the afternoon to get the man to surrender peacefully.
Braintree police reopened South Braintree Square to vehicular traffic, Mayor Charles Kokoros said. Kokoros said additional information will be provided when it becomes available.
