iParty Opens Halloween Store in Braintree

The party store chain will open 10 temporary locations for Halloween, including one at the former Borders in Braintree.

Need a Halloween costume, or maybe some gruesome decorations to scare the trick-or-treaters, but don't want to travel far?

Like last year, Braintree is home again this holiday season to a temporary iParty store, at the former Borders location on Grossman Drive that now holds a Guitar Center.

It is one of 10 locations that the Dedham-based regional chain is opening for Halloween and will carry costomes for infants through adults, along with candy, decorations and other items.

"Halloween is our biggest sales period,” Sal Perisano, CEO and co-founder of iParty, said in a press release. “It is such an important retail holiday and such a perfect time for communities to kick back and have some fun. We thought that opening temporary stores in these locations would provide more shopping options to the community’s mix of families and professionals.”

The hottest costumes this year, according to iParty, will be the presidential candidates, Olympic athletes, reality TV stars, tabloid celebrities, and characters from blockbuster movies.
