Jake n JOES Cleared In License Violation Hearing
The book took no action against the restaurant for an Oct. 8 incident.

BRAINTREE, MA — Staff at Jake n JOES did everything they could to assist a customer who was drunk, the board of licensing commissioners determined Tuesday.
The book took no action against the restaurant for an Oct. 8 incident. Fire Chief James O'Brien, who is a member of the board, said the restaurant's staff was vigilant and did everything they could to avoid disaster, according to the Patriot Ledger.
At about 12:46 a.m., police responded to a report of an unruly customer at the restaurant. At the scene, officers found one man who was in the parking lot. Employees told the officers that they were worried that the man, who was drunk, was going to drive home.

Jake and Joe's officials say the man did drink two alcoholic beverages at the establishment and the bartender thought the customer was fine prior to serving them both. The customer was denied a third drink and offered a water and a ride home instead, as is restaurant policy.
Given the man's state, police believe that he consumed beverages before going to Jake and Joe's and was taken into protective custody.
