Mayor Joseph Sullivan will cut the ribbon at the grand opening Thursday morning.

Illinois-based Jimmy John’s is coming to Braintree and is ready to celebrate their grand opening this week.
The seventh Jimmy John’s in Massachusetts will open Thursday morning when Mayor Joseph Sullivan cuts the ribbon at the sub shop’s Washington Street location. The store is owned by Milton resident Mark Minerd.
“We’re excited to officially celebrate the store opening with Mayor Sullivan on Thursday. The residents of Braintree have been so welcoming,” Minerd said in a release.

Minerd said he chose the Washington Street location because he enjoys the small-town feel of Braintree and working on the South Shore.
To help celebrate the opening, the store will be selling $1 subs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is a limit of one per person.
