Local High School Students Compete in National Science Competition

The team from Archbishop Williams High School was one of five teams chosen out of 300.

A team of three high schoolers from Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree were recently one of five teams selected out of 300 to compete in a national science competition.

The team, made up of three juniors from the school, decided to study the shielding abilities of NASA’s International Space Station and determine the safest area of the space station for astronauts according to the Boston Globe.

The competition was part of the Genes in Space competition, which saw students from grades 7 through 12 use DNA analysis to solve space exploration problems.
