Longtime Public Servant Robert Frazier Passes Away

Frazier, a former Braintree selectmen and state representative, died on Nov. 16 at the age of 89.

Robert "Bob" Frazier, a World War II veteran from Braintree who served in town and state government for many years, passed away last week at the age of 89.

Frazier, married for 67 years to Mary Frazier, died on Nov. 16, according to an obituary posted by Cartwright Funeral Homes.

The former Town Meeting member also served on the Board of Selectmen in Braintree and as a state representative, among other positions. He grew up in East Braintree and attended Braintree Public Schools, according to Cartwright.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Frazier served in the Pacific Theater during World War II, then became a master plumber and worked at the Fore River Ship Yard. Among his large family is son Paul Frazier, former Braintree Police Chief.
