An Emerson College student from Braintree was killed by a drunken driver from Holbrook, police said.
DEDHAM, MA — A Holbrook man was indicted Monday after he drove drunk, striking and killing a Braintree college student, prosecutors said. Darrell Young Jr., 25, was charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury or death, negligent operation, and driving an uninsured car.
Just before 1 a.m., on Dec. 15, officers found Lucas Flint, 21, of Braintree, on the side of the road suffering from serious injuries, police told the Patriot Ledger. Flint, a student at Emerson College, was rushed to South Shore Hospital, and then Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
According to police, a license plate and part of Young's car's front-end were found at the site of the crash. Police used the license plate to find Young's home, where he was arrested.
