Mayor Submits $141 Million Budget

The budget will now be reviewed by the Braintree Town Council.

BRAINTREE, MA - The Braintree Town Council will consider a $141 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Mayor Joseph Sullivan presented the budget to the council Tuesday. This year's budget includes a 4.5 percent increase over last year.

"I think you will find it not only of substance but it will move our community forward," Sullivan said. "There are no gimmicks or one-time funding sources."

Sullivan called the budget a conservative projection, especially in new expenditures.

Also included in the budget is a 2.6 percent increase for the school district. The school committee endorsed their portion of the budget in April.
