Mayor Sullivan to Review Options if Weymouth Says Yes to Compressor Station

BRAINTREE, MA — If Weymouth chooses to let Spectra Energy build a compressor station, Braintree will look at all options, Mayor Joseph Sullivan said.
Braintree's mayor told the Braintree Forum that the town was not included in a $47 million mitigation deal from Spectra. He said the town needs to look at all their options until they learn the details and specifics of the ongoing discussion.
Recently, Weymouth Mayor Robert Hedlund said he is considering a $47 million offer for the town to drop their opposition to the compressor station slated for North Weymouth.

Sullivan said Spectra has not reached out to him and he was unaware of the negotiation talks between the energy company and Hedlund.
