More Than 140 Children Will Enjoy Free Challenger Baseball This Year
On June 23rd, come join us for our Big 2013 Award Night.
For the fourth year in a row, parents of children with physical and mental disabilities will not have to worry about paying for the simple joy of watching their children play baseball for Braintree American Little League’s Challenger Division.
This is all thanks to Local 25 President Sean O’Brien and Teamsters Local 25 Boston Union. Because of their generous donation and complete sponsorship of the program, over 140 children from more than 30 different communities, will cross home plate in a full uniform once again this year. Each child will have a giggle and a smile that leaves spectators and volunteers wanting to come back for more. And they do.
Each inning, every player on the team gets up to bat, whether it is from a pitch or from a tee. They cross home plate to the cheers of the crowd and from their teammates in the dugout. There are no outs and every game ends with a tie score and the shake of a hand. Over the past ten years, socialization and teamwork have been encouraged in Challenger, and as a result, many friendships have been developed.
