Nanny Accused of Stealing $280,000 from Boston Family Stole Credit Cards in Braintree

Stephanie Fox, 30, of Randolph, has a lengthy criminal record, including credit card theft in Braintree

A woman who stole over $280,000 from a family she worked for as a nanny had a long history of crime, including in Braintree.

Stephanie Fox, 30, of Randolph, was arrested on Wednesday on three counts of bank fraud according to the U.S. Attorney’s office. She is accused of writing checks on her employer’s bank account and forging their signatures on the checks.

The charges are not the first time Fox has gotten in trouble with the law. In 2007, Fox received two years of probation for using stolen credit cards from a Braintree restaurant she worked at to buy items including tickets to concerts and Red Sox games and gift cards according to the Boston Globe.

Fox’s attorney Joseph M. Perullo, said his client has a mental health issue, a compulsion that causes her to steal.
