Nearly $1 Million in State Funding Coming to Braintree

Both State Senator John F. Keenan and State Representative Mark Cusack voted for the legislation.

BRAINTREE, MA - Nearly $1 million in state funding is likely heading towards Braintree.

Recently, the state legislature approved over $200 million in chapter 90 funding for road repairs in the state. Braintree is slated to get $994,221.

Both State Senator John F. Keenan and State Representative Mark Cusack voted for the legislation.

“This important funding is crucial to maintaining safe and quality streets for our community,” said Senator Keenan in a release. “I know this money will help Mayor Sullivan and town officials continue their great work to address Braintree’s infrastructure needs.”

The funds are allocated using a longstanding formula based upon community road miles, population, and employment.

“Braintree, like most cities and towns across the State, is in need of roadways and bridges improvement. Our town is a center for transportation in the South Shore and keeping the public safe on these roads and bridges is our number one priority,” said Representative Cusack. “This funding helps in addressing these needs and allows the town of Braintree to continue their work in maintaining the roadways and bridges to ensure the public’s safety.”
