New Location Provides Amy's Dance Dynamics Diverse Space

The dance studio moved from South Braintree Square to 381 Washington St.

For Amy Wallace-Valle, dance instruction has always been more than about competition. Dance can teach gross motor abilities, and also build self-confidence and boost social skills.

"It's more of a positive experience," Wallace-Valle said of Amy's Dance Dynamics, which moved July 1 from South Braintree Square to 381 Washington St.

Wallace-Valle began teaching dance while earning her degree in early childhood education from Bridgewater State University. She started a studio in Randolph and also taught pre-school before moving the business to Braintree four years ago. Now she runs the studio, in the former Color Loft Space in Braintree Square, and raises her 10 and 4-year-old daughters with her husband Mark.

In addition to regular dance classes for ages 2.5 to 17, Amy's Dance Dynamics offers ballet, tap, jazz and other instructional courses, including yoga. Birthday parties are also welcome. Students hold an end-of-the-season show each June.

The new location, featuring a large dance room and other spaces of various size, is a significant upgrade from her old studio, which had just one dance room and a small waiting room, Wallace-Valle said.

She plans to add new programs, including a special needs dance class starting this fall.

"That would be a fabulous addition," Wallace-Valle said.

Many of her students follow-through from when they are just two and three years old to when the graduate from high school, Wallace-Valle said. Some have even returned to thank her when they have their own children.

"It's a great thing," she said. "You see them grow. I'm pretty lucky."
