Nicole Taub Named Braintree Mayor's Chief Of Staff

Nicole Taub is the first woman chief of staff for Braintree, as well as the first Latin American to hold the position.

BRAINTREE, MA — Mayor Charles Kokoros has named Nicoble Taub chief of staff.

Taub was named chief of staff, effective July 1, after being appointed by Kokoros as interim chief of staff in January. She is the first woman chief of staff for Braintree, as well as the first Latin American to hold the position.

"Nicole is a tremendously talented administrator and lawyer with great leadership skills," Kokoros said. "She is truly an asset to the town."

Taub started with Braintree as the town solicitor in July 2018 under former Mayor Joseph Sullivan's administration. In this position, she provided legal counsel to all town departments, boards and commissions.

Prior to working for the Town of Braintree, Taub was the senior staff attorney with the Boston Police Department for 11 years. In this position, she provided legal counsel to the police commissioner, command staff, human resources, labor relations and other divisions on matters relating to internal policies and procedures, legislative proposals and personnel and disciplinary matters.

Taub also represented the department in civil, criminal and administrative proceedings, drafted and reviewed contracts, responded to public record requests and more.

Taub holds a Juris Doctor from the Northeastern University School of Law and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2005. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
