Norfolk County Sheriff Hosting Free Movie Night In Braintree

There will be an outdoor screening of "The Sandlot," as well as a food drive for the Marge Crispin Center.

BRAINTREE, MA — Are you looking for one more family friendly event this summer before sending the kids back to school?

The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office will host a free outdoor movie night on Aug. 26 at the department's Braintree location at 2015 Washington St. Sheriff Patrick Department said the department will screen the 1993 classic "The Sandlot." The movie starts at 6:30 p.m.

"As the summer wraps up and families begin preparing for the return of the school year, we wanted to find a fun way to get together," McDermott said. "Movie night is a great way for families to do just that by enjoying a fun film and relaxing."

The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office will also partner with the United Way to host a food drive that benefitting the Marge Crispin Center. Attendee are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate.

Popcorn and light refreshments will be provided free of charge, and there will be giveaways and a free raffle. Families or individuals wishing to attend should bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating. Registration is free here.
