Opinion: Lisa Heger Says Why She Should Be Braintree's Next Mayor

BRAINTREE, MA — The following is a letter to the editor from Braintree mayoral candidate Lisa Fiske Heger.

I am proud to say that I am officially certified as a candidate for mayor! I have met the voter signature requirements to be placed on the ballot for the Mayoral Primary Election on Tuesday, September 17th! Thank you to everyone who gathered signatures on my behalf and to those of you who signed my nomination papers.

Over the past two months, I have been attending meetings on crucial issues like re-zoning, potential development, and the compressor station, as well as other town events. This has allowed me to hear clearly and directly what is important to you, the residents. Both as a 28-year resident of Braintree and as the current Chair of the School Committee, I share many of your concerns.

That is why, if elected, I will combine my business background and analytical skills honed over my 34-year career in project management and financial services with my passion for serving the community and strong belief in the power of teamwork to ensure that your voices are heard and that we strike a balance between economic prosperity and the small town feel that makes Braintree so special. I am looking forward to continuing to connect and engage with as many residents as possible between now and the primary - if you see me out walking your neighborhood, be sure to say hello!
