Patriots Safety Jabrill Peppers Faces Charges In Braintree

The team said they are aware of "an incident" but won't be commenting further as of now. Peppers will be arraigned on Monday.

BRAINTREE, MA — Patriots safety and team captain Jabril Peppers is likely to face charges out of Braintree after an arrest on Saturday.

Braintreee police said they responded to a local residence early Saturday morning for what they're calling a "disturbance."

"The caller indicated that there was an altercation between two people," police said.

Peppers was arrested after an investigation and police said he'll be charged with assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a substance believed to be cocaine and strangulation.

An arraignment is scheduled for Monday.

Report Doug Kyed said the team issued a statement but didn't offer much comment on the matter.

"We are aware of an incident involving Jabrill Peppers over the weekend in which the police are currently investigating. We will have no further comment at this time," the team said.

Peppers didn't play during the team's 15-10 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday as he was out with an injury.
