Permits Pulled, Job Listing Posted For Braintree Motel 6
Despite the activity, the motel remains without an operating license and can't open.

BRAINTREE, MA — Despite being closed for business, the Braintree Motel 6 is moving apparently forward with planned changes.
About a week ago, the controversial motel posted a job opening for a relief general manger based out of Braintree. The position requires calls for a person to work assigned areas where there are vacancies. It is unclear how much time the person who fills the position would be spent in Braintree.
Last month, work began at the site of the motel. According to Town Council President Sean Powers, the motel pulled an electrical permit and a trench permit for the installation of new parking lot pole lights and exterior building lights. The lights were part of a renovation proposal shown during a board of health hearing in July,

Despite the work and the job opening, Motel 6 remains without a license to operate and cannot open their doors for business.
In response to the shooting of a Braintree police officer by a motel guest on May 5, Motel 6 has been closed since June 1 The motel told the board of health on May 18 that they would close for six weeks to come up with an improved security plan. At a July hearing, the board revoked their license. Motel officials attempted to save their business by promising more security cameras, a credit-card only operation, better lighting, and fencing around the property line and building, but town officials felt it was not enough.

An attempt to appeal the decision to revoke the license was denied by a Norfolk County Superior Court judge.
