Person In Custody After Braintree Bank Robbery
Eastern Bank was robbed at gunpoint on Friday. A search for the suspect locked down Braintree High School.

BRAINTREE, MA — One person is in custody after a branch of Eastern Bank in Braintree was robbed at gunpoint on Friday, police said.
An employee from Eastern Bank on Granite Street reported the robbery at 10:43 a.m., police said.
Multiple police and detective units responded to the scene and a suspect description was broadcast. Braintree High School was put into a "lock-out" condition as a precaution, police said.

Witnesses told officers that a person matching the description ran into the woodline across the street near 639 Granite St. A perimeter was established and K9 and air resources were called in to assist with the search.
A person exited the wood line on West Street just before 11 a.m. They were taken into custody by police, who say that person is likely to face charges.

There is no threat to the public at this time, police said.
