Planning Board Approves Landing Redevelopment
The site plan for Landing Apartments has been approved by the Braintree Planning Board.

The multi-million dollar redevelopment of the Braintree side of the Landing now has the blessing of the Braintree Planning Board.
The board unanimously voted to approve the proposal, giving the go-ahead for developer Joshua Katzen to pursue the construction of the $30 million mixed-use project designed to revitalize and bring transit-oriented development to East Braintree.
“This is a great project and we’re going in the right direction. Hopefully, it will go down to (Weymouth),” Planning Board Chairman Robert Harnais said, echoing the comments of his fellow board members.

A mix use development, Landing Apartments will feature 172 apartments, nearly 12,000 square feet of retail space, 237 parking spaces, and access to the East Braintree/Weymouth Landing MBTA Station according to Frank Marinelli, who is a zoning attorney for Katzen.
The only notable issue that remained was the issue of Katzen acquiring the building occupied by Trio. A letter from the owner of the restaurant to the board stated that the issue was resolved and the developer had their full support.
