Police Identify Man Struck, Killed On I-93 In Braintree

Massachusetts State Police said a Mattapan man was lying in the middle of I-93 and was struck by a car.

BRAINTREE, MA — Authorities have identified the man who was struck by a car and killed on Interstate 93 Sunday night. Around 8:30 p.m., state troopers found Craig Pizzano, 43, of Mattapan, unresponsive after getting reports of a man lying in the middle lane of the southbound side of the highway near exit 5.

According to police, Pizzano was struck by a Honda Accord and was rushed to South Shore Hospital, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Police said they were still investigating why the man was lying on the highway.
