POW/MIA Chair to Bring New Tradition to Braintree High School

A ceremony for the town's second honor chair will take place at halftime of the Braintree-Milton football game on Thanksgiving.

When the Braintree Wamps take on Milton in their annual Thanksgiving showdown, a new tradition will be revealed.

At halftime, the town’s second POW/MIA Honor Chair and plaque will be revealed on a granite platform at Braintree High School.

“It couldn’t be a better venue because it will be a full stadium. We hope that the chair and the plaque are a reminder to our youth that freedom isn’t free and the cost is high,” Braintree councilman Paul “Dan” Clifford said at a recent meeting.

After the honor chair is revealed, every Braintree team that enters the stadium for a game will pass the chair and tap the plaque as a tribute to the American soldiers that never came home according to Clifford.

The Wamps will face Milton on Thanksgiving morning at 10 a.m.
