Prerecorded Memorial Day Ceremony To Air On TV
Braintree's Memorial Day Ceremony will not be held at Blue Hills Cemetery this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Press release from the town of Braintree: The town of Braintree Memorial Day Ceremony will not be held at the Blue Hills Cemetery this year due to the COVID– 19 pandemic. It is important that our town continues to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. In collaboration with our veteran services office, and many other town departments we will continue our Memorial Day Service with a prerecorded ceremony to honor our fallen heroes.
I would like to thank in advance our guest speaker Retired Brigadier General Paul J. Lauglin for his participation in our ceremony and for his service to our country.
Braintree residents can view this year’s Memorial Day Ceremony on Memorial Day Monday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. thanks to our friends at BCAM. For Verizon subscribers the ceremony will be available on Channel 26 and Comcast subscribers on Channel 8. Although we are unable to come together due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I ask that every citizen of Braintree, wherever they may be on Memorial Day takes the time to reflect, remember and honor the men and women who have given their lives to defend our nation. We are forever indebted to them for their ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedom.
