The tournament benefits sports at the high school and middle schools.

The Braintree High School Athletic Association is hosting its annual golf tournament at the Braintree Municipal Golf Course to benefit the interscholastic athletic programs at the high school and middle schools on Aug. 18.
Registration is now open for the 14th annual tournament, which is followed by a buffet-style luncheon at the Sons of Italy Hall. A $100 donation includes 18-hole green fees, a cart, the lunch and a gift.
Proceeds will be used for safety improvements and the purchase of equipment and supplies throughout the Athletic Program.

"These programs allow every student the opportunity to participate on safe, developmental, and highly competitive interscholastic teams at the level
commensurate with their capabilities," Athletic Director Michael Denise and association president John Collier said in a letter.
"This applies to varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen teams, as well as middle school basketball and soccer, for both boys and girls. ... It promises to be a day full of fun and friendly competition. If you can’t participate in the golf tournament, you can still attend the awards luncheon or support us by sponsoring a hole, donating a raffle prize, or making a monetary contribution."
