Residents Show Opposition to Proposed Adams Street Condos
A meeting on Developer George Lang's proposal to build the condos at 71 Adams St. was held at East Middle School Wednesday night.

BRAINTREE, MA — A proposed 142-unit condominium complex drew opposition from residents at a meeting Wednesday night.
A meeting on Developer George Lang’s proposal to build the condos at 71 Adams St. was held at East Middle School Wednesday night. The majority of the speakers were against the proposal, citing an increase in traffic, the potential increase in students at a nearby school, and concerns over water use, the Patriot Ledger reported.
Project traffic engineer Jack Gillon said the project would add about 1,000 vehicle trips a day. There are currently 6,600 vehicles on the road daily.

Brian Palmucci, an attorney representing Lang, said two-bedroom units often do not attract families with children and the property would add nearly $700,000 to the town's tax base.
One speaker said he preferred the proposal over a commercial development, which the property is zoned for.
