School Committee Approves 2016-17 Calendar
The school year may be weeks away from ending, but find out when the first and last days of the 2016-17 year will be.
BRAINTREE, MA - Students in Braintree will return to school two days after Labor Day. Monday night, the school committee approved the 2016-17 school calendar. Below are the key dates:
- Sept. 6 - Teachers return to school
- Sept. 7- First day for students in Grades 1-12
- Sept. 9 - First day for kindergarten students
- Oct. 5 - Half day for professional development
- Oct. 10 - Columbus Day, no school
- Nov. 8 - Presidential Election, no school, and professional development
- Nov. 11 - Veterans Day, no school
- Nov. 23 - Half day
- 24 - Thanksgiving, no school
- 25 - No school
- Dec. 23 - Half day
- Dec. 26 to Jan. 2 - Winter Break
- Jan. 16 - Martin Luther King Day, no school
- Feb. 7 - Half day for professional development
- Feb. 20 to 24 - February break
- March 23 - Half day for professional development
- April 14 - Good Friday, no school
- April 17 to 21 - Spring Break
- May 29 - Memorial Day, no school
- June 3 - Braintree High School graduation
- June 19 - Last day of school with no snow days
- June 26 - Last day of school with five snow days
