Slow Down! New 25 MPH Speed Limit In Effect

The new speed limit applies to all thickly settled roads.

BRAINTREE, MA — Take it easy on the roads, a few of them now have a lower speed limit.

The town's new 25 mph limit on thickly settled roadways is now in effect. The change applies to all town-owned roadways within a thickly settled or business district, unless otherwise posted, according to the Braintree Police Department.

The new limit applies to all side roads such as Walnut Street, Town Street, Storrs Avenue, and Howie Road. The new limit does not apply to state or main roads. Those roads will be posted 30 or higher in some cases, police said.
