Man Shot At South Shore Plaza
Braintree police were called to the mall just after 3:30 p.m. where witnesses were reporting shots fired.
BRAINTREE, MA — A person was shot at the South Shore Plaza Saturday, according to police.
Braintree police said the shooting happened just after 3:30 p.m. One person was shot after gunfire broke out near Forever 21 inside the mall.
"We heard the screams and we heard the trampling of feet. It was like a mass running of kids and adults, and people grabbing everyone that they could, dropping their bags and running in front of my store, which is all glass fronts," a woman who works at South Shore Plaza told WCVB.

A spokesperson for the Massachusetts State Police said the victim was male and was transported to a Boston hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police temporarily enacted a shelter in place at the mall. Just before 4 p.m., police tweeted it was safe for anyone sheltering inside the mall to come out.
