The Northern Italian Steakhouse is opening a Braintree location in October.

BRAINTREE, MA — One of the area's best-known chefs from the North Shore is opening up a restaurant on the South Shore.

The Steve DiFillippo-owned Davio's announced Thursday that a new location at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree is scheduled to open Oct. 10. The new restaurant is the first Davio's on the South Shore and will be located in the former Joe's American Bar and Grill near the main entrance by Miltons.

“Being a North Shore guy I've always wanted to open a restaurant on the South Shore...it's always been a dream of mine to have a Davio's there. I just can't believe the time has finally arrived to open and what could possibly be better than being in Braintree. It's very exciting and we can't wait for our guests who have enjoyed Davio's in our other Massachusetts locations for years now to experience our newest location on the South Shore," Steve DiFillippo, Chef/Owner of Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse, said in a release.
