Suspect in Fatal Braintree Hit-and-Run Now Facing Drug Charges

FALMOUTH, MA — A Braintree man charged with fatally striking a woman while driving faces new charges in Mashpee.
Ryan Brady, 34, was arraigned Friday in Falmouth District Court, according to the Patriot Ledger. He was charged with uttering a false prescription, uttering false writing, forgery of a document, conspiracy to violate the drug laws and accessory after the fact.
Last December, Brady allegedly struck a woman at an intersection at the Weymouth Landing and drove away. Witnesses told police that they saw a vehicle stop and then drive away from the scene, according to a police report.

Brady told police that he heard a knock, looked in his mirror, saw nothing, and drove away, telling police that he didn’t notice the damage to his vehicle, according to the report. When asked where he was going, Brady said he was getting Chinese food and took another way home, missing the police activity at the scene.

Brady was ordered held on $10,000 bail and posted it Dec. 27, according to the Norfolk County sheriff's office.
In the vehicular homicide case, Brady is scheduled in court April 5. In the drug case, he was ordered held on $5,000 bail and is due back in court April 18.
